The Alliance for Addiction and Mental Health Services, Maine is a statewide association of treatment and peer recovery programs and providers representing the majority of Maine state licensed services. Our member agencies represent the full continuum of behavioral health – mental health, alcohol and other drug use and addiction treatment services, and peer recovery supports.

AdCare Maine offers high quality trainings, educational events, and program management services to individuals and organizations who encounter problems associated with substance use disorder, behavioral health, or other public health issues. The Addiction Resource Center (ARC) offers confidential treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. ARC has two convenient locations in Brunswick and Damariscotta. As a program of Mid Coast Hospital, the Addiction Resource Center is fully accredited by the Joint Commission. This Gold Seal of Approval® demonstrates our compliance with the Joint Commission’s national standards for healthcare quality and safety. Alternative Services-Northeast, Inc (ASI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting two populations of adults: people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and individuals with mental illness through residential, case management, and in-home support programs. Aroostook Mental Health Center (AMHC) offers a comprehensive and integrated array of mental health, substance abuse, brain injury health services. AMHC is also dedicated to enhancing community awareness and understanding of mental health, substance abuse, and brain injury issues. Consultation on social and behavioral issues is provided to hospitals, schools, churches, businesses, nursing and boarding homes, law enforcement, courts and their healthcare providers. Catholic Charities Maine has been working since 1966 to provide help and create hope for individuals, families, and children in need, regardless of faith or ability to pay. Catholic Charities offers behavioral health services for adults and children. Community Concepts is a Community Action Agency and a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide leadership, education and support services in central and western Maine to help residents meet immediate basic needs while providing families with assistance to help them move out of poverty and become self-sufficient members of the community. Community Health & Counseling Services is a private non-profit organization that provides community-based home health, hospice and mental health services to adults and children in central, eastern, and northern Maine. CHCS provides services to adults with severe and prolonged mental illness who need assistance in achieving and maintaining independence while living within their community; children and their families who are in need of intensive help in dealing with emotional and behavioral problems; and persons who are homebound and recuperating from a serious or terminal illness or who may be in need of home health or hospice services while dealing with a disability or end-of-life process. Crossroads Maine provides gender responsive addiction and behavioral health treatment services in a safe and respectful environment so individuals and families can lead healthy lives. They offer residential treatment services in Windham and Portland for women, and offer addiction and mental health counseling at the outpatient level for both men and women with ofices in Scarborough and Kennebunk. Day One’s mission is to dramatically reduce substance abuse and address mental health needs among Maine youth to help them live productive, healthy and rewarding lives. Services offered include family and individual counseling, homeless teen outreach, case management, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), corrections services, a Residential Treatment Program, and continuing care post program graduation. Maine Immigrant & Refugee Services (MIRS) is a community-based organization built by the visions of young men and women who fled the repressive conditions in their adoptive homeland. Rumford Group Homes (RGH) provides a variety of supportive services through the children’s crisis stabilization unit, housing and case management programs, homeless youth outreach services, homeless shelters, and low-income housing to children, adolescents, young adults and families in need of treatment, housing, or support. Established by local individuals with a sincere interest in the welfare of children at risk, RGH has continued to grow and respond to the changing needs of the State of Maine and our local community. Volunteers of America Northern New England (VOA-NNE) offers Behavioral Health Services providing a safe, supportive recovery environment to individuals with persistent mental illness. VOA-NNE works with clients to develop an individual rehabilitation and treatment plan that includes daily living skills, education about mental illness and how to manage symptoms, and community engagement. Wellspring, Inc. provides mental health and addictions counseling services as well as co-occurring disorder services for clients seeking to improve their lives. Wellspring is a private non-profit agency providing professional substance abuse assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to adults and adolescents regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, religion, political affiliation, marital status, physical, sexual orientation or mental handicap, or ability to pay. Wellspring’s outpatient clinic provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult and adolescent substance abusers, their families, and other concerned persons. Woodfords Family Services is committed to the support and inclusion of people with special needs and their families in Maine communities. Woodfords Family Services was founded in 1967 by five families that wanted community-based services for their young children with special needs. York Hospital Cottage Program is the premier seacoast area program offering outpatient treatment for adults and adolescents with addictions, and for those affected by others’ use. The Cottage Program’s “Phase Program” provides an intensive outpatient program for treatment of alcohol and/or other drug abuse and dependence. The Cottage Program also has regular outpatient adult and adolescent counseling, and is an approved provider of both evaluation and treatment for individuals involved in the State of Maine Driver Education Evaluation Program (DEEP).
