Membership in the Alliance for Addiction and Mental Health Services, Maine (the Alliance) is open to not for profit and for profit organizations incorporated in the State of Maine. The Alliance offers two levels of membership.
1. Full membership – Organizations providing behavioral health prevention, treatment or peer recovery services who are fully licensed by the State of Maine, when applicable (or have deemed status) as a mental health and/or substance use disorder prevention, treatment or recovery support services program.
2. Associate membership – a) Organizations that do not provide direct clinically focused behavioral health services but do provide other services to individuals and /or families with behavioral health issues; b) Any formalized group or association of agencies interested in mental illness and/or substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery.
Rights of Full membership include [a] membership in the Association, with one designee or alternate on the Alliance Board of Directors; [b] if elected or appointed, participation as an Officer, Committee Chair and/or on a committee; [c] full voting rights and participation on all Alliance issues; [d] member access to Alliance documents, information and minutes of all meetings; (e) Alliance communications, updates and action alerts regarding State and national legislative, activities and initiatives, current practice, and other information regarding the behavioral health field; [f] as part of a member association in the National Council for Behavioral Health you will have full membership rights as well at no additional cost; and [g] advocacy representation both nationally and at the state level.
Rights of Associate membership include [a] membership in the Association; [b] access to minutes and other information; (c) communications, updates and action alerts regarding State and national legislative, activities and initiatives, current practice, and other information regarding the substance use field; [d] as part of a member association in the National Council for Behavioral Health you will have full membership rights as well at no additional cost; and [e] advocacy representation on issues impacting behavioral health in Maine and nationally. Associate members do not have voting status but are eligible for Committee membership.
