The veto of LD 925 must be over ridden!
“LePage’s veto of L.D. 925, the bill that would have allowed for increased reimbursements to pay those who care for the elderly in nursing homes, has a better chance of being sustained since lawmakers didn’t give it their unanimous support.”
“I sure hope they do NOT sustain the Governor’s veto. I hope lawmakers realize that this bill also needs an over ride as it will open up more treatment slots for evidence based mental health treatment for children on wait lists, expand access to opioid treatment (which is sorely needed), reduce wait lists for medication management for adults and children with severe mental illness, and also increase pay for behavioral health direct care workers who do amazing but hard work caring for those affected by substance use and mental illness.
Please let your legislators know this is also important work. They must pay attention!” Malory Shaughnessy, Executive Director, AAMHS
